The Goods: January 2007

New Car

This is Gabe, I started to import cars from the states. This is the first one we did and we really like it so we might hang onto it for a while before we try to sell it. It's been a lot of fun. I found it in Detroit and flew down and drove it up. It was a really long but enjoyable drive. I don't think I'll ever drive them home myself again though, it was too long, but worth it.

I haven't posted many pictures of my Kayla lately so here are a few.

This is Jadyn and Kayla sharing a stroller, it was really cute! You can see Kayla's drool all over her chin! Still no teeth!

Hermana Smith

As most of you know, my sister is on a mission! She is in the Fort Lauderdale, spanish speaking mission and she loves it. I made a montage so that anyone who knows her could see a few pictures of her mission so far. I loved making it and it made me miss her so much. She is an amazing person and I look up to her so much.

One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his Sweat-shirt.
Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, "What setting do I use on the washing machine?"
"It depends," I replied. "What does it say on your shirt?"
He yelled back, "University of Oklahoma."

"It's just too hot to wear clothes today," Jack says as he stepped out
of the shower, "honey, what do you think the neighbors would think if I
mowed the lawn like this?"
"Probably that I married you for your money," she replied.

A man and his wife, now in their 60's, were celebrating their 40th
wedding anniversary. On their special day a good fairy came to them and
said that because they had been so good that each one of them could have

The wife wished for a trip around the world with her husband.
Whoosh! Immediately she had airline/cruise tickets in her hands.
The man wished for a female companion 30 years younger...
Whoosh...immediately he turned ninety!!!

I have been trying all these different chocolate chip cookie recipes and none of them are all that great! Does anyone know of a great recipe?

Grubbiness and Grandma

I finally decided to let Kayla try and feed herself, it kinda stresses me out because it seems like she spends half the time choking on the bit and pieces but she did alot better than I thought she would. And as you can see from the picture she had a great time!

My mom has been visiting for a while and I haven't taken any pictures yet and since she is taking off this weekend I thought I would catch some of the classic abusive moments. She loves to abuse Kayla with kisses!
It's kinda sad because Kayla has grown pretty attached to my mom and they won't see eachother for a while!

And of course I had to catch the classic daddy daughter after dinner moment. She loves watching TV with her dad.

My Studio

Hey this is Gabe and this is my first posting! I thought I'd show you where I spend all my free time. It's my studio! It's not much to look at but it does the job really well.

Happy New Year and Anniversary!

New Year's Eve is always a challenge because you want to spend it with friends and family but it is our anniversary as well so we try to do a balance of both. This year was even harder because it was on a Sunday so we went over to my cousin Heidi and Seth's for fondue and then we went to go stay in a hotel downtown. I was joking around with Gabe all day about not getting me anything for our anniversary but I should have known! He does this to me on every special occasion! He always pretends that he forgot but he surprised me with a ring for our 2 year anniversary! He's the best!

Christmas

Well the Christmas Holidays have been a blast! On Christmas Eve we had Gabe's brothers and sisters over for some gift opening and turkey dinner. It was the first time I have ever been in charge of the turkey and I was pretty impressed with myself! I got Ruth's recipe and it was a succcess! We sure missed having Dan and Traudi there though!
